This international and interactive show returns, and heads north to the Saint-Bris appellation.
Did you say Sauvignon? This one-hour show invites press and wine industry professionals to find out the key information they need about an appellation and what makes it unique, along with reports and interviews from winegrowers. During the first part, different videos introduce all the specificities of the AOC. Then, the second part is dedicated to a guided tasting of several wines. Participants can taste them simultaneously with an expert from the École des Vins de Bourgogne, who will answer all the questions live via Twitter using the #BIVBRDV hashtag.
The show will be broadcast on 30 March and is by invitation only. For more information or to register, please contact Cannelle Peulot: cannelle.peulot@bivb.com

A raffle and some exceptional cuvées for the Saint-Vincent Tournante de Bourgogne
The eight cuvées from the Saint-Vincent celebrations at Puligny-Montrachet, Corpeau, and Blagny are waiting to be tasted on 19 and 20 March.
The 78th edition of the Saint-Vincent Tournante de Bourgogne will take place on 19 and 20 March in the villages of Puligny-Montrachet, Corpeau, and Blagny. The theme of the celebration will be the four elements of earth, water, fire, and air: Elements common to all great Bourgogne wines.
The Saint-Vincent Tournante is held in Bourgogne every year. It celebrates Saint Vincent, the patron saint of winegrowers. This festive event symbolizes solidarity amongst winemakers and is open to everyone, including wine lovers and fans of the Bourgogne region’s traditions.
Among other highlights of the event, visitors will be able to discover eight specially-made cuvées:
Bourgogne Côte d’Or 2018 in red and white, Puligny-Montrachet 2017 and 2018, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru 2018, and three mystery cuvées of Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru 2017, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Folatières 2018, and Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Terroirs de Blagny 2018.
These wines were produced from harvests carried out by volunteers, or from donated grapes or must, hailing from 63 estates and vinified collectively in Corpeau, Puligny-Montrachet, and Blagny. Some 18,000 bottles will be uncorked for the event.
An exceptional raffle of some exceptional wines
Thanks to donations from multiple estates, the organizers will be holding a unique raffle featuring wines from the Montrachet hill, with some 100 Grand Crus up for grabs. Click here to find out more.

“Les Grandes Retrouvailles” on 20 June in Montreal and the “Bourgogne Homecoming” event on 21 June in New York and 23 June in Los Angeles will be three fabulous opportunities to reconnect with winegrowers and négociants from Bourgogne. They will be heading across the Atlantic to welcome you to discover a selection of appellations that respond to the demand of consumers who are looking for Bourgogne wines that express their terroir at a reasonable price.
Tailored to the local market, these events will involve a tasting with Bourgogne wine producers and a press conference. You’ll also have the change to widen your understanding of Chablis wines thanks to a space dedicated to the region’s Premier Cru Climats.
- In Montreal, you’ll be able to discover even more Bourgogne AOCs through a tasting of a selection of sparkling Crémant de Bourgogne, some lesser-known Village appellations, and also a range of wines whose appellation includes the name of a Climat, via three themed areas.
- In Los Angeles and Montreal, a spot will be dedicated to exploring the terroirs of Bourgogne and Mâcon plus geographic denomination wines. This is a great opportunity to find out more about the diversity of these appellations.
- And in New York, the spotlight will be on Bourgogne Aligoté, an appellation that is undergoing a renaissance thanks to the efforts of producers in recent years.
Save the date – We’ll be back in London on 7 June!
Let’s celebrate our reunion with a day that is 100% dedicated to Bourgogne wines.
The Bourgogne Wine Board (BIVB) is delighted to be hosting a 100% Bourgogne-themed tasting event at this year’s London Wine Fair. The trade show, which celebrates its 40th anniversary this year, is making its long-delayed comeback after the pandemic and is now scheduled to take place in the British capital on 7-9 June, with the BIVB tasting to run on day one.
The tasting will provide a festive opportunity for attendees to meet up again with producers and discover Bourgogne wines with a great quality-price-pleasure ratio.
The tasting will run from 10.30am to 6pm in the presence of around 30 producers. Visitors will also have an opportunity to widen their knowledge of Bourgogne wines through a tasting of different Chablis Premier Cru Climats that will illustrate this notion unique to Bourgogne. There will also be a selection of sparkling Crémant de Bourgogne to sample, including Blancs de Blancs, Blancs de Noirs, and a range of vintages and much more. It will be a great opportunity to rediscover this wonderfully diverse appellation that continues to expand its foothold in the UK market.
The vines of the Grand Auxerrois (pronounced “ausserwa”) have a noble past thanks to the Abbey of Saint-Germain and its connections with Paris. Indeed, in 1321, Auxerre wines were served at the coronation of Charles VI.
It was much more recently, in 1993, that the city of Auxerre and the villages of Augy, Saint-Bris-le-Vineux, Vaux, Champs-sur-Yonne, Quenne, and Vincelottes received the right to identify their wines using the Bourgogne appellation with the additional geographical name of Côtes d'Auxerre.
Its terroir is located on both sides of the Yonne river – and this land gives a real personality to the wines produced there.
The red wines are deep cherry red in color, with hints of ruby. In the mouth, the attack is fresh and yielding, with good fruit and silky tannins, along with aromas of cherry, licorice, and spice.
Their fruity freshness makes these wines ideal companions for jambon persillé, salad with bacon, or sea bass with a veal jus. Their fine tannins make them a great match for coq au vin, rabbit with a mustard sauce, or roasted farmhouse chicken.
The whites have a lovely pale yellow color with a satiny aspect with tinges of green or straw yellow. On the palate, they exude a lemony freshness, wrapped in fruit, with notes of peach or other yellow-fleshed fruits. They are light and melting on the finish, with salinity and sometimes a touch of spice.
Their fruity aromas call for light, delicate dishes, and they are perfect enjoyed as an aperitif. Or serve them with a herby fromage frais or any other creamy and light cheese.
